GOALS is proud to offer river expeditions beginning around age 9 (4th grade) and extending through college. From the red sandstone desert of Utah to Oregon’s green coastal rain forest, our western U.S. programs offer much diversity to elementary and middle school students. For the adventurous high school and college student, we offer opportunities to learn and explore on the banks of the most revered rivers on Earth.
The PROCESS:
Identify the GOALS river expedition(s) you are most interested in - based on age, river, and date.
Submit an application as early as possible - our programs fill quickly.
GOALS will connect with your references.
Once we receive their feedback, we will thoroughly review all information to determine if there is availability on an expedition we feel you are ready for, will have the most positive impact on, and will receive the most personal benefit from. If that expedition is full, you will be placed on a wait list. We try to respond to all applicants within a few weeks of receiving a completed application - a process which also depends on how quickly we hear back from the references you provide. If accepted, you will be sent:
- a link for registration, submission of waivers, and payment of a $250 deposit - used to secure your position.
- information about financial aid availability and fund raising opportunities through GOALS.
- dates, times, and locations of upcoming GOALS parent / participant information nights.
