The itinerary we design for expeditions to Peru changes each year - optimizing our opportunities to learn about the regions through which we’re travling and connect with the cultures in those areas. Costs and Inclusions
Cost per participant: $TBD
The cost of a GOALS Peru expedition is altered slightly by the itinerary. Generally around $5000 per participant for a 14-16 day experience, the investment includes:
R/T international airfare and group travel planning from Denver to Cusco, Peru.
Ground transportation throughout the Sacred Valley - from Cusco to various towns on our intinerary including Pisac, Ollantaytambo, etc.
Lodging throughout the Sacred Valley.
Train transportation or hiking / camping logistics into Macchu Pichu.
Entrance fees into Macchu Pichu, a world heritage site and the most renowned archeological artifact from the Inca Period.
Domestic flights in Peru from Cusco to Cajamarca for before our river expedition on the Rio Maranon and from Jaen to Lima after the take-out.
All meals throughout the river expedition.
Professionally licensed river guides and high quality gear necessary to keep all participants safe, healthy, and happy.
Inspiring discussions and activities guided by the GOALS international curriculum aimed at strengthening connections to one other, to the planet, and to self using a more global lens than our curriculum delivered on rivers in the western US.
Guidance from local and international experts, whose knowledge of the area, relationships with locals, and river navigating skills are truly world-class.
An individual global travel insurance policy that covers the duration of this expedition.
Financial assistance from GOALS
We believe that cost should never prevent an interested child from experiencing a GOALS expedition, and work hard to raise money for financial assistance. In addition to the financial support we provide, GOALS also provides a stand-alone electronic fundraising platform that kids can use to raise money. Throughout our first 10 years of programming, GOALS has always provided enough financial aid to make sure that every interested child / family could be involved. This is a record we intend to keep intact.
If you require financial assistance, please complete the general application to participate form. On the last page of your application, you’ll be asked if you plan to apply for financial aid. If accepted to participate in the expedition for which you are applying, GOALS will then send you an electronic financial aid application. After it is completed and returned, our financial assistance committee will provide the most generous offer possible - based on a variety of factors including GOALS financial aid availability, parent and student contribution/fundraising efforts, household income, and additional financial commitments to programs and activities that advance your child’s personal growth.
