The collaborative partnerships that we build with exemplary teachers, coaches, and other youth mentors enable groups of kids from a common entity (schools, scout groups, sports teams, etc.) to experience a wilderness river expedition together.

We are always looking for outstanding leaders seeking to empower kids through GOALS.  It is important to clarify that you do NOT need river running skills to be a GOALS leader - there will be professional guides in charge of that.  Rather, you need to be a dynamic, compassionate, motivating mentor who can leave a life-long stamp of inspiration on the kids you're connecting to their peers, the planet, and to themselves.

Our goal is to get as many kids involved as possible, and to make the process simple, enjoyable, and rewarding for our incredible leaders. Here's how it works:

STEP 1.  SUBMIT AN APPLICATION.
We're picky about the folks we select to lead GOALS programs.  If you think you're the best of the best at connecting with and empowering young people outdoors, please CLICK HERE to submit a GOALS 2019 Expedition Leader application.

STEP 2.  CHOOSE AN EXPEDITION.
If selected to join the team, we’ll work together to review the expeditions we have available and identify the one(s) you’re interested in that we still need leaders on.

STEP 3.  ENROLL PARTICIPANTS
If you’re interested in building something from the ground up for kids you teach, coach, or have some other existing relationship with already, a GOALS representative will assist in your recruitment process by providing promotional materials, then scheduling and delivering an informational meeting for interested kids and their families.

STEP 4. START LEADING BY EXAMPLE. We don’t want our leaders to pay out of pocket for their GOALS experience - but we’re focused on keeping as much financial assistance directed toward kids/families in need as possible. We ask every leader to be involved in GOALS fundraising events to help offset their cost of participation. Don’t worry - we make it easy…and fun!

STEP 5.  ATTEND A TRAINING
GOALS hosts a series of leader trainings during the spring before our expedition season gets under way.  We require that every leader attend one of these trainings to gain a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities, how to most effectivley use the GOALS curriculum, and what support they can expect from GOALS.

STEP 6.  ENJOY THE FEELINGS OF EXCITEMENT,  SUPPORT,  AND ACCOMPLISHMENT!
We'll handle enrollment, payment, scholarship, etc. details for your participants - and will keep you informed as they develop.  We'll also connect you with the GOALS staff member(s) you'll work together with to change young lives on the river.  In the end, we want you to feel a real sense of accomplishment for the work you're doing - and thereby will make the process as smooth as possible for you - before, during, and after your expedition.
