Anup Gurung brings Mission: East-West to Evergreen

I met Anup Gurung on my first expedition to Nepal's Tamur River.  While trekking through rural villages in the shadow of the highest peaks in the Himalayas, Anup told me of a dream he had - to paddle as many rivers in his home country from east to west while he still could.  He wanted to experience, and to share, them now - before they fall to damming and resource extraction.

Those who know Anup realize that his crazy dreams quickly become reality in the form of projects that inspire, empower, and educate.  From creating the Nepal Kayak Club to serve kids in his community to building his own rafting company in Iceland, Anup dreams big - then he makes things happen.

I recently learned that Anup is touring the United States to share the lessons he learned throughout the multi-month expedition now known throughout the whitewater community as "Mission East to West."  With only one night available before heading for New York City, Anup has agreed to present for the GOALS family on Tuesday, February 18 in Evergreen.

To learn more about Anup and Mission East to West, please check out this article about Anup from NRS, or watch the short trailer below.  My apologies for the short notice - I hope to see many of you next Tuesday night!
