We’ve got your application!

Here’s what happens next:

We will reach out to the references you listed and ask for their input.

Once we receive their feedback, we will thoroughly review your application and their feedback to determine if there is space on an expedition you are ready for, will have the most positive impact on, and will receive the most personal benefit from. We try to respond to all applicants within a few weeks of receiving a completed application - a process which also depends on how quickly we hear back from the references you provide.

Then, if you:
1. Receive an acceptance, and get placed in an expedition that has space available…

You will receive an acceptance email form GOALS. It will include:
- a link to submit important registration info and a $250 deposit - used to secure your position.
- information about financial aid availability and fund raising opportunities through GOALS.
- a schedule detailing the expedition preparation process between now and your program launch.

2. Receive an acceptance, but get placed in an expedition that is currently full…

You will be placed on a wait list, and notified if / when space opens up. No deposit or registration will be collected until space is available.

3. Do not receive an acceptance:

As GOALS programs have increased in popularity, we do not have the capacity to serve everyone who applies for our river expeditions. It is our hope that those who do not receive a spot on one of our 2021 expeditions will recognize that such a decision indicates either a lack of available room or an improper fit for a specific expedition - and will consider re-applying the following year.

If you have any questions, please contact the GOALS office via email using info@goalsonrivers.org.
