Our application process is intentional and thorough - as we know how important it is to build groups who are ready for the wilderness experiences we offer, and who view a GOALS expedition as "more than just a river trip." That said, we also know that it can feel like a lot. We are open to your feedback and suggestions for improvement, - if you have these, please provide them here.

2021 forced us to adjust our standard packing-party-get-togethers and conduct them online over Zoom. Although we were concerned that these wouldn't give kids the chance to meet the rest of their expedition team before drop-off, much of the informal feedback we have received has been quite positive, as people have appreciated the opportunity to check in from their living rooms. When reflecting about the experience with your child, or listening to them describe it to someone else - are there themes / ideas that continually re-surface? Through the eyes of your son(s) or daughter(s), what did the GOALS experience represent? Please be as specific as possible in terms of the experiences or lessons they seem to have been most moved by.

At GOALS, we are guided by a vision to develop and implement an empowering curriculum in inspiring settings which accomplishes our mission of building the most important connections for kids- to their peers, to the wild places that remain, and to themselves. Using this lens as your measurement for success, do you feel that your child experienced "more than just a river trip?" Were new connections made or existing connections strengthened? We know that our programs can only be as great as the people who lead them. When describing their adult leaders and guides, were there specific individuals who your child spoke very highly about? Were there any they spoke negatively about? What about these people made a particular impact on your child, and what can we share with them to make them aware of their positive mentoring or offer suggestions for improvement?
