A child you know has applied for a 2019 wilderness river expedition with GOALS (“Get Outside And Learn Something.”). GOALS reviews each applicant based on their own self-assessment, as well as the assessments of two adult mentors they choose as references.
Your information is very valuable in helping us identify whether the applicant is a good fit for our program. GOALS is a wilderness based empowerment program for kids. We are looking for students to join our programs who are excited about the experience and have a desire to live and work within a group of their peers for the entirety of their trip - growing individually and collectively throughout the experience and recognizing it as much more than “just a river trip.” This is not wilderness therapy, rehabilitation, or behavior re-direction - GOALS uses a dynamic curriculum delivered in wilderness river canyons to carry out our mission of connecting kids to their peers, planet, and self.
